Proxy - Who Are You?/8000

If Proxy looked like what his tunes sounded, he'd probably come across as some mad axe weiding bloke with rabies whos had way too many energy drink. Signed to Tiga's label Turbo he's responsible for club bangers such as "Raven","Decoy" and his remix of "What You Need". His new E.P is out now and includes "Who Are You?" and "8000", the former being what to expect from the Proxy, and the latter (my personal favourite) a more experimental approach with a slight Indian theme. The Official video got uploaded to Youtube yesterday by Mr Thomas VonParty himself and proves again, after the great "Peanuts Club" video that this guy can make good vids. Go out and buy the E.P. Its great.

Not to post without some tunes Ive got a crazy edit of Who Are You? by Trumpdisco.

Claude Vonstoke - Bird Brain

So I just passed my driving test so I thought what better way of celebrating than picking up Vonstrokes's long awaited second album titled Bird Brain. Most people think "Claude Vonstroke" is his real name but shockingly its just a name him and his friends came up with after a rave which then stuck.
House and techno producer Barclay Crenshaw (his real name haha) owns and runs labels Dirty Bird and Mothership, two of the best labels for releasing and supporting new music and artists. Dirty Bird has seen a string of seriously good releases from artists such as Style of Eye, Riva Starr, Tim Green and Zombie Disco Squad to name a few, not to mention his own highly original productions such as "Deep Throat" and "Who's Afraid of Detroit" which where received to outstanding acclaim and the latter possibly being the best tune of 2006. His new album is no exception with tracks such as "Vocal Chords, Beat that Bird and The Greasy Beat" being a true testament of his diversity and originality ,that I know will be on repeat for the next couple of weeks.

Doodle Beat : Your Guide to New Music and Art

I'm a music obsessed fanatic who likes to draw. Full stop. To save me the hassle of making two blogs; one about music and one about art I thought I'd combine the two to create some kind of hybrid blog super blog. Well thats the idea in simple words. Im based in Brighton although from Italian decent, 18 years old, make tunes, like to dj, graphic designer/illustrator.

My main goal is to tell people about the different types of good music out there be from the big acts to upcoming unsigned ones. Bit tired of being at a house party and some girl drunk of her tits asking you to play Lady Gaga or some Akoooonnnnnnn. If an attractive young lady asked me to play Popof or the newest release from Boys Noize then the world would be alot better off. Sooner than later I hope.

Art and music complement each rather well. Whether its synth driven bass line of disco house, the high frequency bleeps of minimal techno or the sparse lonely vocals of ambient electronica each genre of music helps me to draw things I never thought possible.

But now time for some tunes. Its Monday and theres nothing better than recovering from a hard weekend than some fresh new tunes.

1.Mowgli - London to Paris

Probably my favourite tune of the moment. I dont understand how a song can be so addictive! Heard Annie Mac drop this on Thursday and it melted my face in a mixture of sweat, my own drool and some guys beer I knocked out his hand as I danced my little feet off. . Found out about Mowgli after stumbling across a mix of his that went from Bmore, hip hop, disco house and salsa influenced tunes to straight down dirty tehcno. Impressed to say the least. His new EP titled "Nu Skool" is out now on Deadfish records and its defenitely worth checking out. Thumbs up to Mowgli for being a fellow Italian too ;)

2.Lazy Jay - Bingo (Dub Mix)

For those that dont know what a Lazy Jay is I wouldnt search it but what we do have is a producer who has released some major big hits and guy known for BIG drops. "Float my Boat" was huge and got play from everyone by artists such as Fake Blood, Boys 8 Bit, Annie Mac, Diplo to name a few. His newest song is no exception!

3.The Toxic Avenger - Toxic Is Dead (Drop the Lime Remix)

Artists wearing masks seems all the rage nowadays but if its means good tunes then by no means it should continue. Signed to big blog and label IHeartComix The Toxic Avenger is an electro thrash producer hailing from France although his myspace claims he produces "Christian Rap". Dear god. Here we have a remix from Drop the Lime with a heavy bassline thats bound to get the club going.
