Why So Generous? : Part 2 Christmas Special

I did have intended to post this on Christmas day but alas the drinking and the eating and the more drinking and eating meant I was pretty much incapable of typing and stringing togething a legible senetence. Ive also just been insanely busy buth ere I am today though, with lots of tune to give away. Hope every one had a great Christmas and New Years.

Crystal Fighters - I Love London (Qoso Remix)

Been alot of attention about artists similar to that of Bart B More lately and this remix by Qoso defenitely matches his quirky bouncy style. I Love London remixes have been doing the round but this is defenitely my favourite.

Mowgli - Nu Skool (Camel Remix)

An Italian artist remixing an other Italian artist with great results.

De Bos - On The Run (Ralvero "Get Down" Remix)

If a song says "Get Down" in it you know your in for a nice little banger. Get down with this track and keep that party going.

Layo & Bushwacka - Love Story (Solo Bootleg Remix)

Old bootleg remix by Solo of Layo & Bushwacka's classic house anthem.

Aeroplane - Caramellas

Slow paced disco house track with beautiful piano based sythns and catchy guitar riffs. If anyone knows how tomake good disco house its those Aeroplane boys.

Siriusmo - High Together (DJ Apt One Intro Edit)

Siriusmo: producer, top graffiti artist and also carpenter and brick layer. He's one of the most talented young producers of the decade without a doubt. DJ Apt One takes "High Together" and gives it a slight Nu Disco feel.

Dustin Zahn - Anolog God (Drumcell & Audio Injection Remix)
A.Paul - Presence (Vic Miranda Remix)

For the more minimal and tech house lovers ;)

Enjoy guys and gals.

Maciek Pozoga

Time for an Art post.

While waiting calmly for Bobmo's new E.P titled Falling From The Crescent Moon to be upped to Beatport which is supposed to be out today I discovered that Strip Steve (Boys Noize Records) has a brother called Maciek who is very good photographer and Illustrator and designed the art work for Bobmo's E.P.

Check out his work at these sites:

DJ Zinc Xmas Crack House Mix

Choosing to turn your back on a genre that defined you as an artist is a risky one, but thats exactly what one of DNB's most longest runner did. Switching from 170 BPM to 130 BPM he started producing a new sound that he describes as Crack House. Here's a new mix he's done to celebrate the Christmas season.

Killing In The Name Of

By now everyone should know that Rage Against the Machine beat Mr Joe Mc Elderry to Christmas N0 1. Newspaper headlines, facebook status, radio stations have literally gone berserk over this. If you dont know the story you have DEFENITELY been living in some sort of cave or where snowed in with no electricity or something. Cut the story short a couple started a campaign on Facebook to get RATM's "Killing in the Name Of" to the number one spot for Christmas . Literally thousands and thousands joined the group and bought the single in an attempt to topple the X Factors Monopoly over Christmas N0 1, myself included.

Ive got an old remix of "Killing In The Name Of" by French wonder kid Sebastian for you to enjoy. Get moshing.

Nguzunguzu & Chernobyl

Two artists who Ive recently discovered are Nguzunguzu and Chernobyl whose mixes have been doing the rounds the last week on my Ipod. The two are similiar in styles ranging from a mix of Tribal, Kuduro, House and Bass heavy jams with influences coming from all around the Globe.

Nguzunguzu is comprised of Daniel Peneda and Asma Moroof all the way from L.A. They're slowly breaking through as very foward thinking artists, slowly honing their own unique style and have recently remixed Maluca over at Mad Decent and also the boys from Buraka Som Sistema which is no mean feat. With an E.P also called Nguzunguzu out soon on their own label Shades Business they're currently gigging it around all the way in Mexico which can only be the start of great things.

Nguzunguzu - E.P Promo Mix

Bonus:

Maluca - El Tigeraso (Nguzunguzu Remix)

Buraka Som Sistema (Nguzunguzu Remix)

Next up Chernobyl. Hailing from Brazil, this guys has been at the fore front of Brazilian music and is also one of the main crediters of Baile Funk. He's an excellent DJ as this mix proves, seamlessly mixing through Electro, Kuduro, Baltimore and Miami bass. He recently released an E.P called "Empina A Pipa" on Shir Khan's Exploited Records with a large host of remixes from artists such as the Finish duo Renaissance Man, Edu K and Joao Brasil.

Chernobyl - Dancefloor Is Not a Serious Place Mix

Bonus:

Chernobyl & Praga - Balanca (Renaissance Man Remix)

Riva Starr- Dance Me (Video)

Second single from his new album "If Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonade" out January 25th on Made to Play. Such a roller and great vid.

Crookers - We Love Animals ft Soulwax & Mixhell

Well well well. I didnt expect this. Is this a triumphant return from the Crookers? Possibly. Defenitely.
After a bucket load of hate swept over them since their mainstream success of their Day N Nite remix, the Italian duo have been slowly been working on their debut album titled "Tons of Friends" which will be released on the 8th March on Southern Fried. Rightly named the album see's the Crookers teaming up with a host of different artists such as Major Lazer, Spank Rock, Tim Burgess, Pitbull, Rye Rye, Kelis, Radioclit, Madness and Roisin Murphy. However the colloboration that sparked the most interest was the track they where working on with Soulwax and Mixhell.
Guess what they did next. They only went and gave it away for free as an early Christmas present. I love those guys.

Why So Generous? : Part 1

Ive got alot of music to go through and review so new to Doodle Beat will be a weekly instalment of just a load of tunes and remixes that Ive been digging that week or found. Music will range from everything to House, Techno, Electro, Hip-Hop,Disco,Drum and Bass and Dupstep so theres defenitely something for everyone.

Ramon Tapia - Colorz

Probably my favourite song at the moment. With influences of the new midget house scene and reminiscent of Solo, Mowgli and most of the stuff coming out on Sound Pellegrino this up beat Techno verging on House track is one that will defenitely get your grooves on.

Round Table Knights - Belly Dance (Mowgli Remix)

Mowgli remixes his own new artist to be signed to his label Deafish, bringing a nice bouncy house vibe to the track. Spinback before drop is epic.

Coolshop - Trumpet Girl (Juan Magan Remix)

Catchy trumpet sample. Thats all you need to know.

Sebastien Leger - Le Moustique

Classy Tech house track from Mr Leger. Slow to build up but picks up a great stride.

Hostage - Valhalla

I hate using the word "Epic" to describe tracks but its the only word that comes to mind when hearing this. Its a track I imagine playing in an intesne Viking Battle. Big orchestrated vocals, very clean produced drums and a mega bassline. Check out his new E.P also titled "Valhalla with remixes courtesy of Chrissy Murderbot, Rampage and my favourite of the bunch Momma's Boy

Acidgirls - Lightworks (Harvard Bass Remix)

FUCKING HELL!

Jon Curtis - Pull Up

Hoping to join the ranks of artists from Brighton such as Spectrasoul,JFB Geometri, Friction, Adam Freeland and Evil Nine, Jon Curtis is a new producer speacialising in big bass heavy tunes (similar to that of Foamo and A1 Bassline but defenitely different) who is set to burst onto the scene. He kindly passed onto me his track Pull Up which blends a brilliantly cut up vocal sample and a big bassline to boot. I can only continue the praise after hearing his edit of Foamo's club banger Wardance and his other tracks "Driven" and "Get Bangala". He seems like a nice bloke too having sent me a nice family picture. With an EP out in Febuary he's defenitely an artist to look out for in the future. Check him out and drop him a message on his myspace Here

Heres his track "Pull Up" available for you guys.
