Major Lazer - Bruk Out (Foamo Remix)

Just finished work and unfortunately couldn't make it to Kill Em All in Brighton tonight with Riton and Solo, but I do come home however to a new remix from 21 year old Kye aka Foamo, of Major Lazer's Bruk Out. Foamo keeps the catchy melody from the original and expands on it by bringing his own notorious bassline sound to the table and keeping the vocals that made the original so good.

Bart B More - Romane EP

With a successful year already under its belt Sound Pellegrino delivers another outstanding release this time from Dutch producer Bart B More. Take an accordion sample, pitch it up and down, throw in some solid world beat percussions and you've got Romane; Sound Pellegrino prooving again that "Less Is More". However one thing that shouldn't go unnoticed are the remixes for this EP. Sound Pellegrino have really worked hard and put together a set of remarkable remixes from Gucci Vump, Para One, French Fries & Bambounou and Rubix with the Gucci Vump being my undeniable favourite. Mad props on the artwork again. Best covers around by far.

Dállman's "Sorry The Cards Late" Valentine Mix

I had meant to finish this yesterday on Valentine's Day but alas my internet left me for the evening. Didn't even have that for Valentine's Day but anyway here's my latest mix the day after, hence the being late title pun, offering a different approach to my usual output. Starting off with some 80's synth pop, dreamy vocals before leading onto some more modern remakes, before ending on an all time classic with a bit of extra punch. I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed making this mix and hope you enjoy it too. Excuse some of the dud transitions.

Round Table Knights - Calypso EP

Just a little heads up that Round Table Knights new EP "Calypso" is out tomorrow on Made To Play. Been looking foward to this EP for a while and fans of Solo and Mowgli and labels Sound Pellegrino and Deadfish should lap this up. Insanely catchy.

You Got The Love For Some Mixtapes (Part 1)

With Valentines tommorow I thought I'd treat you to a couple of mixtapes which some artists have recently conjured up, swaying from their usual style and digging deep into those crates to bring a whole load of smooth and midnight loving jams to get you and your other half into that mood. If your single this Valentines, like myself these are some chilled out, feel good sets that will hopefully make your Valentines day a little bit more exciting.

First up is a mix from Breakbot who is the newest addition to Busy P's Ed Banger Records, famous for signings such as Justice, DJ Mehdi, SebastiAn and Feadz to name a few. His debut EP "Baby I'm Yours" is a soothing mix of electro and 80's funk with some catchy, indulgent lyrics from Irfane from Outlines. Jesus of the dance world Siruismo and La Funk Mob adop their remix gloves for some more funky basslines.

This leads us nicely on to this special mixtape he's done for Dazed. Some real charmers in this.

Also they recently finished their new EP titled the "NGUZUNGUZU EP" which they gave away for free which you can pick up here. NGUZUNGUZU EP

New to scene Oneman, who to some has "almost single handly re-invented old school garage". Also being the first artist to ever appear on Mary Anne Hobbs BBC Radio 1 Show without ever releasing a single record is not going to go unnoticed. Big respect. Heres his Valetine mix he did for MixClouds Valetine Mix Special which you can download HERE.

L S Mitchell

Another producer who I'm hoping will burst onto the scene in 2010 is a young producer hailing from Jersey called L S Mitchell. With a string of official releases out on RuNT and Freek Records and some killer bootlegs of Daft Punk and Justice doing the rounds around the blogs its safe to say this young lad is on his way up. He' s recently finished a brand new track called Empire which he describes himself as mixture of Lazy Jays, Float My Boat and Hot City's, No More which is no bad thing. Definitely worth your time. Give him a shout on his Soundcloud/Twitter. I'm sure he'd appreciate it.

Surkin - Fan Out

I also came back to new Surkin. This has been a great weekend.

Riva Starr Essential Mix

One thing I did miss over the weekend whilst attending Decked Out was tuning into, man of the moment, Riva Starr's debut essential mix. Having only released his debut album "If Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonade" last month, which I have to add is an amazing album name, on Made To Play its seen positive feedback from absolutely everyone. Hailing from Naples but London based its nice to see an Italian producer gain such great feedback. With the man already booked out for the rest of the year 2010 will definitely be the year for Mr Riva Starr.

Beataucue / Mix For Partyharders 01

New mix from artists of the moment Beataucue. Literally churning out remixes a week I wouldn't be suprised if sooner or later they overtake Switch as people to look for when banging remixes are in need. "I prefer the Beataucue remix" anyone? Dont think it will catch on but anyway hers the mix. Enjoy.

Sound of Stereo - Zipper EP (Remixes)

Whilst still on the remix package vibe Sound Of Stereo released a remix package of their Zipper EP yesterday with remixes from Beataucue, LA Riots and Mikix The Cat. Whilst I thought the remixes on the Zombie Nation package required a couple of listens for them to grow on you, these are instant hits and are certain to set the dance floor alight. Love the artwork for the EP too. Again no download this time but available to buy everywhere.

Tracklisting:

Sound Of Stereo - Zipper (LA Riots Remix)
Sound Of Stereo - Button (Beataucue Remix)
Sound Of Stereo - Velcro (Mikix The Cat Remix)

Zombie Nation - Zombielicious Remixes Pt. 2

New remix package of Zombie Nations hit album Zombielicious. The first remix package was a massive success and had artists like Proxy, Shadow Dancer and Arveene & Misk take on the role of remixing different tracks from the album. The second remix package see's Harvard Bass, Jori Hulkkonen, Rebolledo and Franz & Shape attempting to spruce things up a little. My personal opinion on them is that on first listen they may seem a bit boring but after a couple of listens they have soon started to grow on me with the Franz & Shape one being my personal favourite. Unfortunately I cant give the remix package away but you can find them available to buy online at Beatport, Juno, Itunes etc.

Tracklisting:

Zombie Nation - Seas Of Grease (Harvard Bass Remix)
Zombie Nation - Mas De Todo (Jori Hulkkonen Remix)
Zombie Nation - Supercaked 53 (Franz & Shape Remix)
Zombie Nation - Mas De Todo (Rebolledo Remix)

dangerDAN

Dont you love it when a producer finds their "sound". Hailing from Chorley dangerDan started out by remixing a series of artists such as Sebastien Tellier, Blondie and Little Boots with great results although he himself classed them only as being "fun" and a "good way of experimenting and learning production". After a brief absence he's back with some brand new original material that leans to a more deep house style with a few surprises in store.

White Light 18 - Neoteric

Brand new mix from Neoteric for the White Light instalment. After creating a huge buzz with his Mystery mix for Discobelle this mix is an absolute must. This is what the man himself had to say:

"Its been amazing to see this series blossom into what is has become! My last White light mix (Vol 5) was one of my favourite mixes that I've ever done, but I wanted to go deeper on this one to really catch the 'Night Driving / Zone Out' vibe. This one is much less vocal, way more mind trip, and features some very strong productions from acts who are really pushing this sound. This is pretty heady, moody stuff, and the vocals that were picked resonate strongly with emotion. I hope this strikes a nerve and is the cosmic soundtrack along your ways. Look towards the light!"

Ghosts Of Venice- I Learned From The Best EP

Hailing from Leeds, Ghosts of Venice, also known as one half of Youth Attack, is slowly becoming one of the UK's finest filter disco house producers, bringing his own approach to the genre. Having already conquered clubs with his own club night and label Kill The Rhythm and had huge success under the Youth Attack moniker its nice to see a producer handle a completely new genre so well. You definitely know your dealing with a talented producer. He describes his new E.P as a tribute to 80's diva Whitney Houston with a nod to house legends "Le Knight Club". Two original tracks, 3 remixes and a great video has seen great feedback from artists such as Grum, The Phantom's Revenge, Laberge and even Radio 1.

Also I forgot to mention the E.P is free ;)

Tracklisting:
1. I Learned From The Best (Original Mix)
2. Her (Original Mix)

Clouds

Ok, new producer that I was lucky to come across the other day via the lovely people over at the Erol Alkan Forum. If I'm totally honest all I know about this artist is that he hails from Scotland and he's called Clouds. We'll let the music just do all the talking shall we but mark my word I think this guy is going to blow up very soon thanks to some very clean cut productions and huge electro basslines. Hidden Cat - Shooting Stars (Bag Raiders Cover)

Been wanting to post this for a while. Hidden Cat is slowly making a name for himself and 2010 is set to be very big for the young man from North Carolina. Came across him on the Erol Alkan Forum and if its one thing I enjoy the most its seeing an artist slowly make it. He's remixed a host of tracks from artists such as Kym Brown, Andy Caldwell, Portishead and Kid Cola but its his new downtempo cover of Shooting Stars by the Bag Raiders that has really caught my eye. Riding on a rainbow from Charlotte L'Harmeroult on Vimeo.

Noob takes an IDM approach with his new track. Video was made by French artist Charlotte L'Harmeroult which is also pretty good.
